Rescue dogs – loyal companions
Are you considering inviting in a rescue dog to your home? These beautiful dogs are such loyal companions (like all dogs). Because they probably have been through some life experiences, they are very direct in their dog language.
With my guidance in the dogs natural language, you’ll have the best start with your rescue dog in your home.

In my home I have two rescue dogs. Both came with insecurities and one of them couldn’t be re-homed because she bit someone. In my pack she lives with 3 kids and 2 other dogs. Nothing is impossible if you take time to understand the dog’s true nature and how they move in life.
I offer a 30 min. emergency Zoom dog consultation to help you understand your rescue dog. Price: $86.

how to misinterpret a rescue dog
Below I have listed a few common comments I hear when helping dog owners understanding their rescue dog. Remember, the dog is a pack animal and a predator with strong instincts.
What our human eye perceives is not always correct. Hence we need to be curious about the dog’s true nature.
sad rescue?
or just confused?
We humans often misinterpret the dogs body language. Dogs are not sad but often confused in our human world. It is our job to guide them in a world they don’t understand. Especially rescue dogs because they may have changed homes, states even countries.
dangerous rescue?
or not understood?
We humans often misinterpret aggression in dogs. A dog’s last reaction is attack – if it feels threatened. LAST reaction. A rescue dog that lashes out is a dog hasn’t had it boundaries respected and not felt understood.
afraid rescue?
or just confused?
We humans often want to save others be it humans or animals. It’s a good feeling but when saving a rescue dog, we need to understand their nature instead of feel sorry for them. A dog looks for balance and if you pity the dog, the dog sees you as unbalanced. This can create fear in a rescue dog and cause the dog to retreat because it’s confused.
heal your rescue – heal yourself
When you see the world through the eyes of your dog, you know how to help your dog in different life situations such as meeting other packs (dogs and humans), going on the walk, how to create harmony in your home, how to teach your children to be around your rescue dog and so forth.
