Dog Listener – Human Listener

My name is Celest.

y work is about understanding what the dog is communicating underneath the behavior.

I listen to the dog.

I listen to the human.

I help restore clarity between them.

See the world through your dog’s eyes

I have guided dog owners since 2013.

I was born in Denmark and have lived in Sweden since 2010, working with dog owners across Scandinavia and internationally in English-speaking countries.

My work today combines:

dog communication

psychology

communication

observation

emotional patterns

calm leadership

I hold a master’s degree in communication and psychology, alongside coaching certifications from both the US and Sweden.

I chose this path because I realized helping dogs also means helping humans understand what is happening underneath the behavior.

I realized my work was never only about dogs.

It was about creating a bridge between dog and human.

Learning to listen to both.

Understand your dog

Over the years, I have developed a deep ability to recognize communication patterns between dogs and humans.

This means I can often understand what may be happening underneath the behavior without physically meeting the dog first.

By listening carefully to:

the human

the routines

the relationship dynamics

the emotional atmosphere around the dog

I can often identify the deeper patterns creating stress, confusion or pressure in the relationship.

Many people are surprised by how accurately I can describe their dog’s behavior simply through conversation.

But to me, dogs are constantly communicating through patterns, reactions and energy long before we physically see the behavior itself.

That understanding becomes the starting point for helping both dog and human differently.

Breed influences the dog, but breed is never the whole dog.

All dogs still speak dog.

The dogs who shaped my understanding

Sheevas — The dog who changed everything

My first dog was Sheevas.

She came into my life when I was 20 years old and became the reason I started searching for deeper answers about dogs and communication.

Sheevas struggled deeply with noise fear.

At one point, I brought her to a mental test where loud gunshot sounds were used as part of the assessment.

At the time, I believed I was doing something responsible and helpful for my dog.

But looking back, I understand how that experience — and also my own fear, worry and reactions around her fear — contributed to making things worse over time.

Fireworks, windy weather, rain, sounds on the radio and unexpected noises affected her entire life.

Whenever there was a sound, she became extremely alert.

She would pant, shake and completely lose her presence in the moment.

There were also periods where she did not want to go for walks.

I spent years searching for ways to help her truly feel safe.

And when Sheevas was 10 years old, I finally found the understanding that changed everything for both of us.

Within 6 months, her fear around sounds had changed dramatically — not because I forced her to change, but because I changed my understanding of her and the situation.

Through calmer communication, clarity and safety, she slowly stopped carrying so much fear and responsibility.

She became the first dog I helped heal through this method.

And in many ways, she became the foundation of everything I teach today.

Mojo — Learning through calm walks

My second dog was Mojo.

She was 11 months old when she came to me.

Mojo was deeply confused and overwhelmed by the world around her.

On walks, she would throw herself toward the ground when she saw people — constantly trying to be accepted.

She pulled intensely on the leash and could not walk calmly anywhere and in the woods without becoming overwhelmed by everything around her.

But within less than a year, something changed dramatically.

Through calmer communication, clearer structure and less pressure, the world no longer felt so overwhelming to her.

The woods became a place where we could both truly relax and enjoy being together in nature:

off leash

on a long line

without constant stress and tension

Mojo taught me so much about:

pressure

overstimulation

acceptance-seeking

emotional sensitivity

calmer communication outside the home

Moni — Trust without pressure

My third dog, Moni Hero, came to me as a rescue from Portugal.

Originally, I was supposed to help rehome her.

But little did I know that the moment she walked into my home together with Mojo, she was already part of the pack.

Moni had struggled in previous homes and had bitten someone before arriving.

She was deeply shy, nervous and would barely eat.

People described her as afraid of humans.

I picked her up in Copenhagen and travelled home with her and Mojo by train to Stockholm.

And from the beginning, I knew exactly how I wanted to help her:
not through pressure,
but through calm structure, clarity and safety.

Within just a few weeks, our trust was deeply established.

Hero taught me so much about:

rescue dogs

sensitivity

trust

food communication

emotional safety

Both Hero and Mojo have worked as therapy dogs visiting elderly homes.

Dakota — Still learning through the dogs

My fourth dog, Dakota, entered my life unexpectedly in 2024, shortly before Mojo passed away.

Dakota is a sensitive and majestic dog with a strong presence and personality.

Even though he grew up surrounded by the safety of the pack, he still experienced challenges with separation anxiety and dog meetings.

And even though Dakota can ask many questions on the leash, he has always known how to communicate naturally with other dogs when off leash.

That distinction has taught me even more about the difference between:

leash pressure

true communication

social ability

emotional responsibility

Dakota has expanded my understanding in completely new ways.

Every dog has shown me a different side of:

communication

responsibility

trust

pressure

leadership

safety

And honestly, my understanding continues evolving through them.

I can truly say that my life with dogs has allowed me to see the world through the dog’s eyes from many different perspectives.

For that, I feel deeply grateful.

Who I help

I often work with owners experiencing:

barking in the home

rescue dog challenges

leash reactivity

stressful dog meetings

nervous or overwhelmed dogs

separation anxiety

food-related challenges

dogs who struggle to relax

But underneath these situations, the deeper work is always the same:

- understanding the dog more clearly.

Many dogs are not trying to be difficult

Many dogs are simply carrying too much:

pressure

responsibility

confusion

emotional tension

Testimonials

“Honest help when you feel desperate or like a total failure with your beloved buddy... your dog. I have a German Shepherd, Manson.

We hit an impasse. He became all stubborn and I got angry. He’s a big dog. Stubborn doesn’t work then.

But we got the help we needed because she saw that I was anticipating problems before they even arrived.

And Manson, he was looking for my guidance and leadership.. not my anger and anxiety. So I needed to step back and calm down, believe in my dog’s natural reactions to difficult situations that I put him in.

We began having wonderful walks in a tempo we both wanted together. So grateful for her help.”

“… it changed our relationship. Celest gave me the insights to understand my dogs communication and it changed our relationship.

Earlier, my dog was insecure in meeting other dogs on the street, pulled on the leash and couldn’t relax inside the house.

After consulting Celest, we’ve made a lot of progress and most importantly, I understand how to help my dog in stressful situations.”

Marie

“I began understanding that my dog wasn’t trying to be difficult. My dog was trying to manage the situation.”

Christine

“I feel like I can finally breathe again around my dog.”

More than behavior

This work is not only about changing behavior.

It is about changing how we observe, respond and communicate.

When pressure decreases and communication becomes clearer, many dogs begin showing more of their true personality.

And often, the human changes too.

More calm.

More understanding.

More trust.
